I first found this recipe in a Pillsbury Bake Off cookbook my mother gave me years ago. The recipe was from 1971 and it was kinda bland. I'm all about presentation- even when it's short cutting with a tube of crescent rolls. This is a quickie weeknight meal and is best served tapas style. I also like to serve this for get togethers any time of year. Easy, simple and filling. Peace, B.

You'll need the following ingredients for one crescent ring (feeds my family of five):
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 minced onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tubes of crescent rolls
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
lettuce and tomato on the side
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 minced onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tubes of crescent rolls
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
lettuce and tomato on the side
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cook ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain well. Return to pan and add pepper, Worchestershire sauce, ketchup mustard and 1 cup shredded cheese. Heat through until cheese is melted and all ingredients are combined.
Unroll the crescents into triangles. You'll have 16 altogether. Arrange them in a circle on a pizza pan with the points toward the outside, hanging over the side of the pan a little. You'll have a little open circle left in the middle of the pan.
Scoop beef mixture onto the widest part of the triangles and top with pickle slices. Bring the point over the scoop and tuck under the widest part of the triangle at the center of the ring. All the filling won't be completely covered.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded cheese and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. The ring will be nice and brown.
Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Fill inside circle with lettuce and tomatoes.
